Excellence in essentials If a task is worth doing, it's worth doing well and we can't expect to be perfect in all things. So rather than spreading ourselves too thin, we are selective and very intentional in what we do.
Authentic, passionate worship of God We view worship as giving everything we are to everything God is. This means that authentic worship is a lifestyle. It also means that our worship (both public and private) must be a culturally relevant expression of our hearts as we meet with God in spirit and in truth.
Centrality of the Christian Scriptures The Bridge has an unflinching commitment to the Bible as God's revealed and authoritative truth to the human race. The Word of God shows us the way of salvation and offers us everything we need to live a life pleasing to our Maker.
Dependence upon prayer Just as the Bible provides us food for our soul, prayer is like spiritual breathing. Whether we realize it or not, we are completely dependent upon God for every second of life and developing a healthy practice of conversing with God (as well as listening to Him) is a vital aspect of walking with Him.
Helping people become more like Jesus In a word, the Bible calls this 'discipleship.' The Bridge is intentional about helping people move forward in Christ-like spiritual maturity. A disciple is like an apprentice who learns to replicate the life of his or her Master. As mentioned previously, we seek to assist you on this journey through our Connect-Grow-Serve-Reach ministry structure.
Developing a loving community (family) The Bridge works hard at developing and maintaining a culture of love and acceptance toward long-term members and newcomers alike. Spiritual development best takes place in a safe, friendly and loving environment.
Every member is a minister All Christ-followers are called to ministry without exception. Each of us is exhorted in the Bible to discover and put to use our unique, God-given gifts and abilities in service to other people. This is how we serve God and express his love practically.
Local & global outreach through evangelism & service Jesus Christ has called His followers to take his life-transforming message into their spheres of influence. The Bridge places a high priority on obeying this both locally and globally through evangelism, social action and service.
Conscientious stewardship (of all resources) Part of being a disciple of Christ is understanding that God has entrusted us as stewards with time, talent and treasure. Everything in our possession belongs to God and a life of faith requires that we consistently honor our Lord with these "assets on loan." Advancing the kingdom purposes of God necessitates living with an open hand and an open heart.
Purposeful, grace-filled living A life of grace is supernatural and can only be produced by the Spirit of God working in and through us. Following the guidance and empowering of God, we seek to foster a church culture of authenticity, honesty, hope and acceptance. This means receiving people "as they are" and helping them to move forward on their faith journey.
